Rating:

This book is an honest, firsthand depiction of the struggles and
hardships faced by victims of tragedy and life-altering trauma. The
author's personal experience as a critically injured missionary in
Africa, gives and authenticity to the hope he shares with those who may
be suffering .
Paul Beckingham weaves scripture and insight with his own story of trial
and the spiritual challenges he faced. He also paints beautiful wood
pictures of Africa- it's people, customs and scenery. There are very
enjoyable stories of his life as a missionary there with his family.
I think this book is a good read for anyone who enjoys true stories, or
stories of missionaries, but it speaks especially to all who may have
lost their hold on hope through injury, illness or trauma of any kind.
Many people will be able to relate to this narrative, regardless of the
extent of their own challenges. The same old pat answers are not given
here, but the author portrays the hands of a loving Creator without
pretending to guess at His motives.
