The quaint town of Dinsmore has a problem
with a ghost, the ghost of a young girl named Delfin Deverell. Her
spirit is supposed to haunt the Deverell estate on the edge of town. As
the local legend states, anyone who starts seeing her ghost is destined
to spend the rest of his or her days in the Dinsmore Mental Health
Facility. Is there any way to break the spell that the legend has cast
over Dinsmore?
The Granger family has recently moved to
Dinsmore and now resides in the old Deverell estate. Their daughter,
Cazandra, has admitted to seeing Delfin Deverell, and is becoming
increasingly unstable. For the safety and sanity of his daughter,
Emmett Granger wishes to relocate his family immediately, but his wife
Agnes objects. Emmett is not willing to go against his wife’s wishes,
so he seeks out help. He determines that his daughter needs spiritual
guidance, and seeks the church’s help. The minister of a local church
tries to help the family, but he believes the girl’s problems to be
medical so he writes off the family. There is only one person in town
that seems to agree with Emmett and believes that the girl needs
spiritual help, and her name is Chazona. Is one person enough to battle
the demons that plague the girl? Is the town in trouble of succumbing
to the legend of Delfin Deverell?
Sharon Foster has written a book that deals
with spiritual warfare. She shows that the only way to banish demons is
by following God’s words. We need to listen closely for God’s command,
and ignore any obstacles placed in our way. We need to be prayer
warriors. We need to offer ourselves up to God, and let him use us as
we are, imperfections included. Sharon Foster has done an excellent job
of conveying how to work against the forces of evil in our lives and
that is by calling on the Lord.
I was expecting a story about a haunted
house, and I was surprised by the actual content of the story. This was
a great book about the evil that dwells in a small town, and how to
overcome that evil. I enjoyed the clashes between the angels and the
demons as they fought over the lives of the inhabitants. Sharon Foster
shares many messages in this tale. Keep your focus on heavenly things,
turn away from earthly temptations, and with God all things are
possible.
