Rating:

This was an amazing
book about leaving your comfort zones and truly seeking where God wants you
to be, living the abundant life He has planned for you. The 13 steps are
well defined, and are clearly explained, so that people will not be tempted
to follow their own desires. Some of the
steps include praying, meditating
on Scripture, and truly evaluating the talents that God has given you, so
that you will be using them in the workplace, as well as other areas of
your life.
Throughout the book are
Reflections and Questions, to help make it more personal to you, as you
seek to see where the next step may lead you. The author has you evaluate
your own spiritual life, seeking out a church where you will also use the
talents God has given. He then directs you to seek out opportunities that
may expound more on your talents and gifts, and see which ones truly
encompass where you should seek to be in the work field.
He encourages you to
seek out encouragers, to help you along, and also to ask among friends and
family, to see what they believe are your strengths that you may not even
be aware of. He then encourages really seeking through prayer, to see if
God is directing your path, and if you believe He is, to then step out in
faith.
Obviously, that is
never easy, so the author then directs a chapter to leap of faith fears.
So as to encourage
everyone, not just those in the workplace, the end of the book includes
help for at home parents, students, retirees, volunteers, and clergy. If
nothing else, following the outline in this book will bring you closer to
God, so you are seeking His will for you. There is also a journal included
in the end for thoughts.
I was pleasantly
surprised, as an at home mom, to read this book and be blessed by the
author's insights. I endorse it heartily, and have already purchased a
copy for a friend who mentioned that she felt like she needed a change in
her work life.
