Back to basics, could this
statement meant to encourage simplicity be the key to a deeper spiritual
life? The answer in one word, Absolutely! Many people today need to take
a step back and realize in order to achieve a deeper spiritual life one
must first start with building a relationship with God. As more and more
people seek salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, more and more people are
beginning to understand that God’s immediate plan for humans was
companionship.
After companionship we
begin to find the elements of building a more meaningful relationship.
Worship, prayer, the ability to listen when God speaks, and faith. When we
worship we bring together these elements. In the book of Matthew chapter
seven, verse seven we find one of the guidelines to a more fulfilling
prayer life,
Ask,
and it
shall be
given you;
seek,
and ye shall
find;
knock, and
it
shall be
opened unto
you. Building the more meaningful relationship we begin to
understand these elements and develop our Christian life, listening to God
becomes a vital part of developing spiritual life and especially a deeper
spiritual life. The greatest gift for a Christian is ultimately developing
a friendship with the Lord, but among the greatest gifts is that of faith.
In
friendship and in the Christian life a vital part of our understanding
begins with seeing who we are. We must remember as Christians, we are
sinners. Christians must continue to seek God in all things, continue to
build the relationship that God seeks in humanity. To build a spiritual
life is a life full of Christ, a deeper spiritual life is a life dedicated
to Christ. Mike Pilavachi and
Craig Borlase bring understanding to what elements a Christian should
utilize in building a true friendship, a deeper spiritual life with God.
God is everywhere, in everything, and in complete control. God has plans
for each and every one of us; it is up to each one of us to keep God in our
plans. So back to the basics, keep the Lord in your heart, live life for
Christ. Now that is the answer to a deeper spiritual life
