Have you ever wondered if you are leadership material?   COMPASSIONATE LEADERSHIP will certainly help you to answer that question.  This is a must-read for leaders in all walks of life but especially to those in Christian leadership positions.  Anyone who reads this book will walk away with much improved outlook.

The authors, Engstrom and Cedar, have given the reader clear and concise steps to compassionate leadership.  Peppered with much Scripture one sees clearly the compassionate, service-oriented leadership style modeled by Jesus himself.   It is also apparent that the authors have actually lived out these principles in their own lives.

The norm would be to focus on organizational skills, management techniques and power tactics but this book has far surpassed the norm.  Every page is an inspiration to follow the Master of all leaders, Jesus Christ.  The message is totally unorthodox by the world's standards but scripturally it is right on target.  The act of giving of self is one of the key principles.  Too often today leaders lead through fear and intimidation but not so Christ.  He led by an example of humility and service to others.

The book is light reading, able to be read in one to two sittings.  However, you will want to savor every page and ponder the wonderful truths.  I can't say enough good things concerning this book.

This book would serve as a powerful tool for any leadership conference, workshop or small group study.  Everyone will benefit from the guidance and direction of Engstrom and Cedar.  The presentation is comprehensive and thorough omitting none of the factors which belong to an adequate study of leadership.  Filled with scripture and personal experience this book is destined to be a classic in its field.
