of mathematics and physics, to the result of the law of
random chance
and self-fabricated evolution? How do I account for the
very nature
of the heart of man; the desire for meaning, purpose,
truth and significance?”
This is written with the questions being asked “Is Jesus
of Nazareth truly the only
Begotten Son of God?” A Savior, if you will? To some the
death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is the greatest ancient mystery
of all times. Holmes meets a Christian lady, Miss Hackberry, and is
enraptured by her inner peace and her devotion to God. Due to his
interest in these phenomena and being the detective we all know him to
be, he must investigate these assertions.
Lured from retirement, Sherlock Holmes and his faithful
companion, Dr. J.H. Watson will go to unbelievable lengths to answer
these controversial questions. Their dangerous journey is by means of an
incredible, untested, machine. Their quest is returning to first century
Jerusalem. Unprepared for first century modes of travel, they learn
first- hand the rigors of walking in the desert, climbing to great
heights and riding on camels, ships, and donkey carts. In route to their
destination, they must endure scoundrels, thieves, slavery, starvation
and imprisonment as well as other things just as unpleasant . With humor
and their life-long friendship, they manage an ongoing debate. (Holmes
being pro and Watson being con.)
This makes for challenging reading and stamina. An Opened
Grave is marred by slow-pacing, unnecessary asides and relentless
introspections. The storyline is a wonderful
combination of mystery, and apologetics that prove to be
profound issues of faith, “The
Truth” can be found!
