The seeds of greatness are with in us

or

Everything is possible for the one who believes.

Mark 9:14 When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. :15 As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.

Mark :16 "What are you arguing with them about?" he asked. :17 A man in the crowd answered, "Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not." :19 "O unbelieving generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me."

Mark :20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.

Mark :21 Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?" "From childhood," he answered. :22 "It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." :23 "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." :24 Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" :25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again." :26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." :27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up. :28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" :29 He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer."

For the last few months I have become more fascinated with the mind then ever in my life.

I shared with you the power of "Placebo" where something happens in our body, even though we only take a sugar pill instead of the real healing pill.

If you look back into ancient cultures or primitive cultures you become aware of the power of the medicine man, who healed within his tribe.

I often remember when I was young how I was "daydreaming" or imagining things and there became true.

There is something within us that is given to us by our God that is very powerful, but we have neglected to take hold of it.

The way our mind works is like this: By our experiences we have gathered thoughts which lie within us. Some are deep within us and they do not come to the surface very often, others are always there.

When we are confronted with a decision or are asked to act upon a situation we put (almost) all of our experiences into place (we think) and analyze the possible outcome of our reaction to a decision or action.

Depending on our past experiences (thoughts that have manifested themselves within us) we project our future.

I believe that that is very powerful, but also very dangerous.

Although we are meant to be a great people, bad experiences handicap us to experiences the "good" It seems as if we are constantly attacked by doubt. . .doubt that again is formed by our experiences.

But what is worse is that these experiences form us. They make us who we are and . . .it is hard to escape.

"As a man thinketh, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7)

Here is one I even like better:

"Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee and light shall shine upon thy way." (Job 22:28)

This verse really tells us that we have the power to bring our thoughts into reality. And depending what thought we unleash so we will be and so we will live.

I can tell myself every morning that based upon my past experience the Fall is a terrible season with all it cool winds, the cloudy days and there is nothing to rejoice. My sons can say every morning that they hate school because they have to get up early, do homework and listen to stupid teachers.

Depending on how I think and what I proclaim deep within me. . .that is exactly the day I or my boys will have and experience.

But the truth is this: I have the power to decree the day in itself. . .no situation, no words, no actions (should) have power over me. None of these negative thoughts should influence my actions, my being, because:

"Through his thoughts, man holds the key to every situation and contains within himself that transforming and regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills." (As a Man Thinketh, James Allen)

And the best thing is that we have learned it is biblical.

Many of us underestimate our being here on earth. We allow to be governed by doubt about ourselves and by other peoples wills for us.

1. Your thoughts create your reality. That which you focus on is what you attract to yourself.

2. You get what you concentrate on. You get precisely what your consciousness focuses on.

3. If you hate something, you're focusing on it. If you love something, you're focusing on it.

4. No one MAKES you feel anything. Your feelings are as much a choice as anything else.

5. Forgiveness is important -- it frees you from focusing on something that was negative. It does nothing for the person you're angry at.

6. There is no other rule in your life: your life is the way it is because you decided that's the way you wanted it to be.

6. Pursue meaningful relationships, because they will offer life.

7. Affirm within yourself the good thought and share it with others so the "good thought" manifests itself into the hearts of others. (Remember 90% of your life is influenced by the others. . . .so give them good choice and they will come back to you)

Well, you may say: But I can get rid of the doubt that is within me. Here is my suggestion: Pray! Praying will allow you to concentrate on the odd and to play the scenario out with the power of our God.

Often we see athletes before an important race and the one thing they all do is they go through the race step by step. . .they do it for hours. It is not that they do not know how much 100 meters are, or that they do not know they need to run in a straight lien. . .they just need to feel the presence of the reality of the upcoming race in their mind. And none of them is motivated by the thought of losing the race. . .they are focusing on winning the race. . .one step at a time.

Praying unleashes the power of being one with God and eliminates all negative thoughts that may have defeated our spirit.

That is why praying has such a healing power for us. Healing of our spirit that is within us. Our thoughts influence our being. . .our body.

When Jesus came to rescue the boy from an evil spirit. Jesus rescued him from experiences and thoughts that were manifested within that boy. Jesus prayed and denounced the evil spirit and the thoughts and prayers: our faith, became reality.
