December 13, 2007 (Virginia Beach, VA) – Xulon Press announces the
publication of the nonfiction book, Strong Winds Change Lives by author
Eureka F. Collins.
Collins sets Strong Winds Change Lives in her native city of Virginia
Beach and Hampton Roads communities. It reveals the true story of how a
mother earnestly prayed to have a child after several doctors stated
there was a fifty-fifty chance of giving birth. Having faith, the mother
went through the rigorous In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) program and became
pregnant. Things become dark and confusing when the child dies and on
the same day her husband, a Naval Officer, receives word that he will be
departing within a week for the Iraqi War on Terrorism.
As the family is torn apart and tries to make sense of this tragedy, they
grow closer to God through prayer. After a six-month deployment, the
husband safely returns. Within a year, the couple attempted the IVF
process again and the mother becomes pregnant. Although doctors monitor
her closely, she delivered a son at twenty-three weeks premature,
weighing a mere one-pound and 2.5 ounces. The family was told that
statistically their son would not survive. The mother asked God to
remember her as He did “Hannah” (of the Bible’s Old Testament book of
Samuel).
Strong Winds Change Lives is a story of faith, triumph and healing. It
is a story about dominion, power and perseverance. Suffering was used as
part of a bigger plan and purpose to change many lives. God did
